Today we had a percussion workshop for 6 classes. A man called Dave(and his dog) came to teach us how to play the Jembe. He would do a beat and we would copy him. We did all different types of beats with different drums and percussion instruments. It sounded really good. We learned about where they came from and that Mali is famous for its music and jembes. We also watched some videos on youtube about African percussion. It was really good fun :)

Last night my school had the annual music night. TY's sang a song called Mama Said by Amy Winehouse's god-daughter Dionne Bromfield. We have been practising with class Emnet for weeks an included actions and all . Unfortunately I couldn't go but I heard it was a great success.

So for the past week we have been practicing for the carol service because TYs are partaking in the choir. Im not great at singing but its funny singing in the choir and hopefully we’ll sound good tomorrow. We get to sing lots of Christmas songs and hopefully the rest of the school will join in. Some girls are doing solos and they have amazing voices. J
