Today Green Hero set off for our last competition- the final of the Get Up an Go competition.
We arrived in Naas at about 9.30 and set up our stand. It improved greatly since the regionals. There was 27 companies altogether. A's , B's and C's rotated again from the stand to task cards to discussion groups.
First me and Jessica were on the stand and we got 2 judges- quality and marketing. We thought they went really well and other people seemed impressed too.
We then went around with our task cards for the next hour and got to see the competition ;) There was some really good companies and some strange ones. One company's company was literally buying slaughtering and selling turkeys and chickens! :/ They even had 3 live chicks and we were told we could name them but they were going to be murdered eventually. Me and Jess were not happy :L. For the 3rd hour we had the discussion groups. For lunch we had sausages/chicken goujons and chips.
Then it was time for the awards ceremony. We didn't want to get our hopes up but we were delighted when we won 3rd prize for quality out of Ireland :)
It was a fun day.

So on Tuesday we left the school at around half 10 and we set off to
Glasnevin. We were going to a drama showcase in memory of Margaret
Alyward. There was three other schools -
Finglas,
Glasnevin and
Clontarf.
It was a long but fun day. We practised, changed our plays, put them all together, practised more andate :)
My part in Noughts and Crosses was cut out. We had to shorten and change our play because we were preforming to an audience of nuns. So instead I did the music for the two Amina plays- Noughts and Crosses and But you Didn't.
The actual concert started at 8 and there was plenty of acting, singing and dancing.
We got home at around half day and it was a good day :)

On Monday half of TY set off for Naas for the Kildare county enterprise final and the rest of us went to the Get Up and Go competition in the Red Cow. My group were a bit apprehensive as we didn't know what was going to happen.
After a bit of stress with the bus not arriving to collect us until we were supposed to be there, we headed with minutes to go until the competition started.
We Set up our stand and were pleased with how it looked :)
Then our group was split into 3 - 2A's , 2B's and 2C's.
Me and Jessica were A so for the first hour we stayed at our stand and answered questions from other students and two judges.
For the second hour we went to a room with all the other A people and we had circle time, discussing our companies, advice and how mini company helped us as people. For the 3rd hour we had a worksheet and we had to find out about other companies there. All the A B and C groups kept rotating.
Then we all went for lunch. there was chips with a choice of sausages, chicken or chicken goujons.
Afterwards we had the awards ceremony...
Real won second prize for innovation and Bisclips won 3rd in that category.
Green Hero won 1st for sustainability and 3rd for quality and we got to the national final on the 7th of April :)

We found out on Tuesday that Noughts and Crosses got through to the final of the
Briery Gap competition. It is on in Cork on the 5
th of March. That's going to be a very busy week seeing as our mini-co competition is on the 3rd, our tech on the 4
th and now this on the 5
th!
So we are changing it around a bit and we have taken the judges
comments into account.
Hopefully we'll do well
because i really like our drama :)
