Louise TY (:
I described our history project back here. I have been slowly working along at it and I'm finding it really interesting. :)
Here is an extract of my essay so far:

“I am certainly not happy”. This was Eva Anna Paula Braun who was born on the 6th of February 1912. She married Adolf Hitler just 40 hours before they both took their own lives. Eva Braun lived in the upmost luxury while millions died at the hands of her “Wulf”. She is still to this day one of the most guarded secrets of the Nazis. Every time guest arrived, Eva Braun was sent off to her room without fail. Although she was a key figure in Hitler’s immediate social circle, they never attended public events together. The German public had never heard of Eva Braun until after her death. She was never allowed sit in business meetings so historians wonder did Braun actually realise the extent of Hitler’s plan. It is uncertain whether Braun was a member of the Nazi party.

The most plausible reason of them not marrying sooner was that Hitler feared he would lose popularity amongst his female supports. Albert Speer who was the Minister of armaments and war production during Hitler’s reign said of Eva “I soon began to feel a liking for this unhappy woman, who was so deeply attached to Hitler”. According to Hitler’s chauffeur, Braun was “the unhappiest woman in Germany. She spent most of her time waiting for Hitler.” Although she was such a deeply unhappy woman, she was happy to be the companion of the “great man”. Even Hitler’s closed associates were unsure of their relationship status as he was never entirely relaxed in her company.

For our end of the year history project we have to choose a topic of our choice and do a 5/6 page essay on it.
We can do it on anything at all so i researched a few things that i am interested in.
I decided to do it on Eva Braun- the life of Hitlers life.
I'm finding it really interesting and learning loads about herself and Hitler.
I found out that they were only actually married for ONE day! They married one day and took poisin the next.
It looks like she was really unhappy but she never left Hitler even though he said they could never have kids because they just wouldnt be able to be as great as their dad... Vain much :/

Today(Monday) at 12o clock the TY's headed off to Croke Park to see the museum. I thought it would be boring but it was actually really interesting!

When we arrived we watched a video that was about 20 minutes long. It was interesting because it was more about the day to day running of Croker and like all the smaller jobs that make games possible.

We got to go right to the top seats, visit a box , the museum , see the players lounge and dressing rooms. We then got to have a bit of food it the cafe :)

For more information on the stadium tour and museum click here.

In history we watched Schindler's List. It is set in Poland and is about a man Oskar Schindler who is in charge of this huge company that employs Jews to make pots and pans. It is good but disturbing...we saw 2 people being shot in it today :/ .

This week we had to finish up lots of projects before Christmas.
Our History project on local history had to be finished by Monday and im very happy with it. I did mine on Celbridge and you can find out lots of information
We handed up our Geography fact files too. I did mine on New Zealand and Thailand. There was also Tanzania, China, Azerbaijan and Ireland in my group. I was supposed to present my NZ presentation on the 6th but we missed loads of Geography classes so I might not do it until after Christmas.
In Spanish we have to do a PowerPoint presentation on something related to Spain. I am doing my project on Picasso because I like his abstract art and I went to his museum in Spain one year. You can see some of his work here.

For our history project we have to do a project on local history. I chose Celbridge because Ive lived here since I was seven, my grandparents live here and my other nanny lived in Celbridge when she was small.
There is lots of historical things in Celbridge such as Castletown House, Celbridge Abbey and the Workhouse.
Here is a picture of Celbridge workhouse then and now(Paint factory) and a plan of the inside :)
